Friends of the World, Skype me!

Hello All!

Here is just one more way you get intouch with me! I have recently set up a Skype account and it works pretty well. There is just a slight delay, but its still wonderful to hear your voice! My account name is “lnictaylor”; so if you are a Skype user look for me, if you are not a Skype user you probably should be.

There is a ritual “widow cleansing” going on in my yard tonight. Apparently they are going to sing and dance all night, and there is a prophet coming. Details to follow.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! See ya on Skype!

  1. Hi Leah,
I have been reading your most recent blog entries will sitting at work being really really bored and envious of your adventures. I can’t believe you get to be in a traditional African wedding, what an honor! And I am trying to imagine how hard it must be to see all the children in the school getting treated the way they do, especially after the way our school system is set up, it must be incredibly difficult. I know you will be able to hang in there and I can only hope that you will see changes by the time you leave there.
As for me, I am trying to enjoy the last few days of nice fall weather, we have had a beautiful week in the mid 70s. My lab has moved to its new location out in Aurora and our lab is very nice and the view of the mountains and of Denver is gorgeous. We face directly west and are nine floors above everything else. It will be fun to watch the storms come in over the mountains in the winter.
Kylie and I are in moved into our new apartment and we are both loving it. The only problem is that we are both pretty lame and never really do anything so we both feel like we don’t have a social life. We both work too much and are exhausted by the time we get home, but I guess that it just takes some getting used to. Overall we are both enjoying our jobs. I do get a little lonely sometimes at work since I am the only full time employee that my boss has at the moment but I hope that he will hire some new people soon!
Do people in SA celebrate Halloween? I was just thinking about our Halloween last year….I don’t think that it will be the same this year! Well even if you are not going to get to celebrate halloween….. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I sure do miss you lots and I can’t wait to hear about this “widow cleansing” that went on in your yard. Well it sounds like you are doing well and learning lots, talk to you again soon.

    DLAM,
    Sarah

PS, I will have to look into the skype thing……

  2. Leah,

I have enjoyed your blog. What an experience. My prayer is that you are safe and sound.

Things here are busy. We are getting cows and calves ready for winter. Moving hay into the yards and getting all the pre-conditioning shots done for the calves. We are scheduled to sell calves on November 21-on a cow/calf operation the fall sale day is the annual income for the year.

The boys are well. Cole is enjoying college and we miss him. Hoyt is busy with school activities and seems to keep Kathy and I engaged.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Uncle David

  3. Greetings, Leah!
I am a friend of Grandma Lois, and I met you at the Olive Garden in Sioux Falls when our “Grannie” group had lunch. I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying reading your blog, and I’m looking forward to reading about the widow cleansing and also the wedding! I have shared your site with a boss here at work who went to Africa last year with his pastor who came to SD from Africa.
I want to wish you a “Happy 24″ and a wonderful year. You are having an experience that most of us can’t even imagine! Thank you so much for sharing your stories. I’m grateful to Grandma Lois for letting the “Grannies” in on the fun!
I hope your day Wednesday will be an extra special one!
    Love and prayers,
    Sue
