Thank you so much to those of you who have answered my call for more reading material. I have a nice little library for myself started. Anne and Boys- the books look wonderful, and lots of people are in line to read The Devil and Ms. Pryn. Mom and Dad- I just got your great package today via special PC delivery! You went all out, thanks! The little travel cups are too cute and I am pretty sure I may never run out of pens! Plus I am excited for all the great reading material!
Life is starting to settle in a bit here in GaMaja. I have been out wandering around the village the last few days putting together a map and making lots of new friends. Most everyone I meet asks the same few questions: where are you going? Where are coming from? Where do you stay? What are you doing here? What is your surname? Taylor, like from The Bold (i.e. The Bold and The Beautiful)? Today I had a pack of 3rd Graders walk me home (holding my hands and touching my hair), it was very fun but with limited conversation as they don’t answer my Sepedi and they don’t speak much English. I also have a very nice and chatty neighbor who is about my age. While looking at pictures of my family he asked if my dad was a movie star?! (That’s right! Go Dad!) But then he wrote me a two-page love letter, which was very sweet but we had to have a conversation about why I am here (not to find a husband). Eish.
